In the summer of 2020, during the ever so fun pandemic we were all living in, I was asked to photograph some of the interiors of the beautiful Arlo NoMad Hotel beautifully situated in Midtown Manhattan, NYC.
Part of the fun of photographing hotels is always having to patiently wait for guests to come and go. There's always foot traffic that we can not hold up, so timing shots is of the utmost importance. While we wait to have a lull in the guests milling about, we carefully setup the scene to appear as welcoming as possible.
Utilizing all of our gear, we are able to capture spaces in a natural and controlled way to help elevate the look of any room beyond what you would expect. Combining multiple techniques and lighting situations into one image really helps bring rooms to life. The library in Arlo Nomad Hotel was a pleasure to photograph. If you are ever needing a room to stay in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, this hotel would be my recommendation.
